[metis-users] mestis - partitioning in z-tubes

I would like to partition a mesh into z-tubes. 
Each z-tubes contains Zmin and Zmax. 
How do I do this using metis? 
Hope my question is clear.

p.s. 
Another way to say this is I want to partition the mesh only in the x,y plane.
